Surgical and grooming patients are admitted 30 minutes prior to office hours.

Boarding pets are welcome for admittance 30 minutes prior to or any time during regular office hours. Please remember we provide all linens and bowls. Exotic guests should bring housing, food, and bedding. For more information about boarding, click here

Veterinarians

  • Josee Vaillant , DVM, CVA, CVTP


    Dr. Josee Vaillant received her undergraduate degree in 1995 from the Outaouais College in Quebec, Canada and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 from the University of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. She joined the veterinary team at Pembroke Veterinary Clinic in June of 2003. In July 2004, Dr. Vaillant returned to Montreal to work in a large referral emergency hospital where she had the opportunity to work with many specialists in the fields of oncology, internal medicine, surgery, radiology, dermatology, dentistry and alternative medicine. Dr. Vaillant returned to Virginia Beach and Pembroke Veterinary Clinic in April of 2007. Dr. Vaillant became certified in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2010.  She continued her studies in alternative Chinese medicine and became certified in  Veterinary Tui-Na in 2011. Soft tissue surgery, ultrasound imaging, and emergency medicine remain some of her particular fields of interest.  She is the proud owner of Remington, a German Short Haired Pointer,  and Rudy, a Weimaraner.

  • Michael Perry , DVM


    Dr. Perry received his DVM from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. He has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine in the Tidewater area for over ten years. While serving as a relief veterinarian at Pembroke Veterinary Clinic in 2005 and 2006, Dr. Perry was impressed by the dedicated staff and wonderful clients. He was therefore very happy to join Pembroke's team full time in November of 2007. Dr. Perry enjoys all aspects of general practice but does have a particular interest in skin and ear diseases.  Dr. Perry and his family share their home with a Flat-coat Retriever named Rivendell.

  • Richard Dailey , DVM


    Dr. Richard S. Dailey received his DVM from the Ohio State University in 1967.  Dr. Dailey established Pembroke Veterinary Clinic in Virginia Beach in 1973. He purchased Sajo Farm Veterinary Hospital in Virginia Beach in 1994 and Great Bridge Veterinary Hospital in Chesapeake in 1996. He has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Virginia Beach area for over 35 years. He has been very active in the veterinary community during his career. He was an adjunct clinical instructor at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987-1988. Dr. Dailey served as president of the VVMA in 1988-1989 and has served on the Board of Directors of Tidewater Veterinary Associates. He is highly skilled in orthopedics and cosmetic surgery.

  • Beth Montoya, CVPM


    Beth Montoya, CVPM is our Hospital Administrator. She holds a B.A. in English/ Journalism with a minor in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University. Beth earned her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) certification in 2005. She has worked at Pembroke Veterinary Clinic since 1984.     Tina Novakovich is the Technical Staff Manager at Pembroke Veterinary Clinic. She has been with us since 1998.   • Jennifer Turner


    Jennifer Turner joined our Client Care team in September 2011.  Jenn served in the U.S. Army prior to joining the team at Pembroke Veterinary Clinic.  She volunteers at Norfolk Animal Rescue and is proud of her success finding loving homes for cats. Jenn shares her home with a small white mixed breed dog named Charlie, a gray domestic short haired cat named Ramada, and an orange and white DSH named Casey.

  • Steffany Swedberg, LVT


    Steffany Swedberg is a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Pembroke Veterinary Clinic. She earned her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology through Blue Ridge Community College. Steffany shares her home with a Chow mix named Suki, a Border Collie named Greta, a mixed-breed dog named Aly, a Quaker parrot named Lucky Pippin, and six cats, Zoe Marie, Mango, Tinkerbell, Kiwi, Josie, and Sidney.     Samantha joined Pembroke Veterinary Clinic in August 2008. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2004. She loves working with dogs and cats as well as more exotic animals such as hedgehogs, rabbits and rats. Sam received her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology in 2010.
